Built from 260 real Ruy Lopez games played from White’s perspective, this volume transforms opening study into a structured training system connecting the opening with independent middlegame decision-making.
Volume I contains 260 real games, 780 training positions, and 3,120 White solutions. Each game is converted into one continuous training trajectory through three linked stages: Preparation, Key Moment, and Conversion. In every position, the student finds four moves for White, creating a practical chain of decisions rather than a collection of isolated tactical exercises.
The central idea is to study the Ruy Lopez not as a table of memorized variations, but as a transition from opening structure to real chess: the object of the plan, piece improvement, exchanges, strategic pressure, and the moment when positional advantages must be converted into concrete action.
Every game page contains three linked training positions and one final historical diagram. The route to the first position, the connecting moves, source positions, complete game, and final position remain part of the historical record. Stockfish 18 is used as an independent verification tool, but it does not rewrite the game or replace human chess analysis.
The training method follows a three-level model: first understand the structure, then solve independently, then test the acquired knowledge in practice. ChessMasterPro extends the book into active training, where approved seven-ply lines are used for repeated calculation and practical reinforcement.
Each game is treated as one continuous trajectory. The reader reconstructs the path to the Preparation position, solves the Key Moment and Conversion stages, and only afterward studies the historical continuation and conclusion. This approach is designed to develop understanding of why a move is played, not merely the ability to remember what was played.
Designed for ambitious club players, advanced students, coaches, and serious chess readers, this book provides a large practical repertoire base for studying the Ruy Lopez with White through real games, repeated structures, strategic decisions, and structured calculation.
Together with Volume II, the complete two-volume series contains 520 games, 1,560 training positions, and 6,240 White solutions.
