The Boy She Never Expected #1015508

THE BOY SHE NEVER EXPECTED
A Short College Romance by Sara Mars.

She came to college chasing a future.
He was born with one waiting for him.
Neither expected to fall for the other.
Kennedy Brooks didn't come to Howard University looking for love.
She came for a degree, a journalism career, and the chance to build a life bigger than the one she grew up with.
She's determined. Ambitious. Independent.
And absolutely unwilling to let anyone's money, family name, or social status decide how far she can go.
Then there's Jordan Whitaker.
Campus royalty.
Star athlete. Student leader. Wealthy heir. The kind of guy everyone knows—and the kind of guy Kennedy promised herself she'd never fall for.
Their first meeting is an argument.
Their second is worse.
But somewhere between late-night study sessions, basketball games, coffee runs, stolen smiles, and conversations that last until sunrise, something changes.
The boy she thought was arrogant becomes the one person who understands her.
The girl he barely noticed becomes the one person he can't stop thinking about.
And what begins as an unlikely friendship slowly turns into something neither of them can deny.
They're falling in love.
But Jordan's family has secrets.
Big ones.
When Kennedy's investigation into a suspicious university financial deal leads straight to the Whitaker name, her personal life and professional ambitions collide.
Suddenly, the man she's falling for may be connected to the very story she's determined to uncover.
And the closer Kennedy gets to the truth, the more dangerous things become.
Someone is watching them.
Someone wants the investigation buried.
And someone knows a secret about Jordan's family that could destroy everything.
Now Kennedy has to choose between protecting the biggest story of her career and protecting the man who has captured her heart.
Jordan has his own choice to make:
Follow the future his powerful family planned for him...
or risk everything for the woman who showed him what it means to choose his own life.
Because college was supposed to be where they discovered who they wanted to become.
They never expected to discover each other.
And they definitely weren't prepared for what would happen when the secrets between their families finally came to light.
