For centuries, physics has often described the universe as if its resources were effectively unlimited: if an equation allows a configuration, that configuration is treated as physically admissible.
But what if reality operates under strict capacity limits?
This book introduces MSQ-NET, a theoretical framework that treats physical existence as a selective process governed by Universal Compossibility. Reviving and operationalizing a classical intuition of Leibniz, the model proposes that not everything logically or mathematically possible can become physically real. Leibniz’s idea of compossibility was radical: different possible worlds are not merely abstract alternatives, but mutually incompatible configurations. Not all of them can coexist within one and the same real order. In Leibniz’s metaphysical language, God selected the best compossible world. MSQ-NET translates that intuition into physical terms: the selector is no longer theological, but operational a finite-capacity process of informational filtering, stabilization and materialization. Only configurations that can coexist stably, without overloading the system or generating unsustainable noise, pass the filter. At the heart of MSQ-NET lies a dynamic relation between two domains: the Virtual Field, the realm of potential configurations and deep relations, and Real Space, the domain of stabilized, physically actualized events. The transition between them is an active process called commit. For a possibility to materialize, it must satisfy constraints of coherence, capacity and stability.
Far from being pure philosophy, MSQ-NET proposes a research program with falsifiable predictions, most notably ontological jitter: a subtle, saturation-dependent fluctuation in the rhythm of time itself.
The book develops operational tools such as the saturation index and the compossibility functional, while recovering General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics as effective mean-field descriptions of a deeper informational dynamic. Aimed at readers interested in the foundations of physics, information theory and the philosophy of science, this work proposes a bold but disciplined vision: reality is not the totality of the possible, but what the universe can sustainably actualize.
