الثورة والديمقراطية والإرهاب - تحديات تواجه العرب #662041

أعالج في هذا الكتاب بعض أكبر التحديات التي تواجه العالم العربي في هذا القرن، والتي أراها متمثلة في ثلاثة مواضيع هي: الثورة، والديمقراطية، والإرهاب. ويشكل كل منها محورا خاصا لدى البحث والدراسة، ولكنها مترابطة طبعا.

يستند هذا العمل على أبحاث شرعت فيها بعيد اندلاع الثورة التونسية سنة 2011، والتي انتقلت إلى بلدان عربية أخرى، والعديد من هذه البلدان لا يزال يواجه الاضطراب وانعدام الأمن والاستقرار، بما في ذلك تونس. والحقيقة أن هذه الظواهر الأخيرة رافقت الثورات جميعا، حيث التحديات تكاد تكون متماثلة.   فلا يكفي القيام بثورة، وإنما ينبغي أيضا معرفة كيف يكون بناء ديمقراطية ذات مصداقية، ونجاعة اجتماعية، واقتصادية، وسياسية. ولا يكفي حتى النجاح في إقامة حكم ديمقراطي، وإنما ينبغي كذلك المحافظة عليه ضد الغش والكذب والخداع والانتهازية والفساد... وخاصة ضد الإرهاب. ولا يكفي مكافحة الإرهاب بالوسائل الأمنية والعسكرية، وإنما ينبغي أن نعرف من أين يأتي ولماذا يوجد إرهاب مع وجود الإسلاميين في الحكم، ولماذا تتكرر نفس التجارب في البلدان العربية، وكأن التاريخ  الذي هو في الغرب تقدم نحو المستقبل،  يصبح عند العرب لا معنى  له،  حيث تسيطر على الناس أفكار  ترى  المستقبل هو الماضي. إنه وضع لا مخرج منه. بل إنه مأزق الفكر الإسلامي في عصرنا المتأزم. فلا الإسلاميون يستطيعون تقديم حلول، ولا الحلول موجودة في الماضي. وأيا كانت العقائد التي يؤمن بها الناس، فالتاريخ ليس سحرا ينقل الماضي إلى الحاضر
In "Revolution, Democracy and Terrorism", I address some of the biggest challenges facing the Arab world in this century, which I divide into three topics: revolution, democracy, and terrorism. Each constitutes a particular focus for research and study, but they are, of course, interrelated.
This work is based on research I started shortly after the outbreak of the Tunisian revolution in 2011, which spread to other Arab countries- all of which, Tunisia included -  are still facing turmoil, insecurity and stability. Those phenomena accompanied all revolutions. Although processes and dealing varied,  the challenges are almost the same. It is not enough to make a revolution, but those countries should also know how to build a sustainable, socially, economically and politically efficient democracy. It is not enough to establish a democratic rule, but they should also preserve it against fraud, deception, opportunism and corruption... especially against terrorism. It is not enough to combat terrorism by security and military means. Still, they should know where it comes from, why there is terrorism with the Islamists in power, and why the same experiences are reproduced as if the history in the West is progressing towards the future, becoming meaningless to the Arabs, still sticking to an idyllic past. It is a situation from which there is no way out. Instead, it is the predicament of Islamic thought in our tense age. Neither the Islamists can offer solutions, nor do the answers exist in the past. Whatever dogmas people believe in, history is not magic that transfers the past into the present.
