Pericles, Prince of Tyre #429347

A Rich and Adventurous Shakespearean Romance

Pericles, Prince of Tyre by William Shakespeare is a fascinating blend of adventure, romance, loss, reunion, and the unexpected turns of fate. The play moves across different lands and dramatic situations, giving it an unusual sense of movement and discovery.
Its mixture of danger, family separation, coincidence, and eventual restoration makes it especially distinctive among Shakespeare’s works.

The story has a fairy-tale quality while still exploring themes of endurance, love, and hope.

This Bauer Books edition is a great choice for readers who enjoy Shakespeare, classical drama, and adventurous romances. An engaging and rewarding read.

Many modern editors believe that Shakespeare is responsible for the main portion of the play after scene 9 that follows the story of Pericles and Marina, and that the first two acts, detailing the many voyages of Pericles, were written by a relatively untalented reviser or collaborator, possibly George Wilkins.
