More than ten thousand years ago, the Jōmon people lived in Japan, long before modern cities, schools, cars, and technology. They lived in small huts made of wood and grass and survived by gathering food, fishing, and hunting. They made stone tools, clothing from tree bark, and distinctive pottery decorated with rope-like patterns that gave the Jōmon period its name. They also created small clay human figures and lived together in close-knit villages where families helped one another. Although they left no written records, archaeologists have discovered their bones, pottery, and tools, allowing us to learn about their remarkable way of life. This book is for all Chinese beginners. I tried to include most of the vocabularies used in the story, along with their English meanings. Wherever possible, I tried to make use of simple grammar structures and avoid the more complicated grammar structures. If you are a beginner in the Chinese language, this is the book for you.
