The concept of dialogical photography aims to encompass experiences with photographic language that propose forms of relationship between photographers and those photographed — but also involving other spheres within the production and circulation chain of photographs — which value encounters, exchanges, and constructions beyond modes characterized by distancing between subjects, often leading to situations of violence or aligning with mechanisms of oppression. These aspects are quite common or even predominant in photography and are not limited to instances where the photographer is the protagonist of the violent act, but also all occurrences diluted in the functioning structures, the structural oppression.
