The Poisoned - an alpine noir #1013410

On the silent summits of the Alps, a violent blizzard wipes out the line between salvation and ruin. In this whiteout, Agnes finally surrenders to certain death. Pulling her from the drift and hauling her back to his remote alpine cabin is Peter: a brooding, striking outcast, branded by the scorn of an entire valley for a fatal crime committed years ago.
Cut off from the world in a forced, claustrophobic standoff, the two slip into a subtle psychological duel, each fighting to unmask the true nature of the other.
A taut, atmospheric psychological thriller delving into the shadows of family trauma and the elusive search for absolution.

"The mountain claims your grief. It tears it from your chest, boxes it up, wraps it like a gift, and hands it back to you.
In its place, it leaves itself.
And so you stand there, pain cupped in your hands, gazing at the peaks that surround you—peaks that now dwell inside you as well.
The mountain is medicine.
It is an antidote to poison.
It is a cure forged of dark and light intertwined, of bone-chilling cold and sweat.
It is a trail to take, a track, a crimson thread to follow through scree and firs, past streams and lingering tongues of snow, with no expectation of return.
Blind to where the other end is tied, mountain people keep walking, alone, waiting to heal.
Sometimes, two of those threads cross among the crags. Two souls, each bearing their own pain in the palm of their hand, are forced to face each other. This is the story of one of those times.
The story of Agnes and Peter."
