In this context, the United States emerged as the dominant power—well before the fall of the Berlin Wall—navigating the wars in Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq, alongside the great technological and digital revolution and a cultural landscape transformed by civil rights movements and rock music.
China underwent equally traumatic transformations under communism—such as the Cultural Revolution and the events of 1989—before ending the century with an unprecedented capitalist surge.
The State of Israel and Middle Eastern crises evolved over the decades, setting the stage for the ideological clash that would culminate in the following century.
