"Promise it to everyone, give it to no one."
Micol, 17, from Milan. Distinguishing features: beautiful. Her secret dream: to break into the world of fashion and entertainment. Thus begins, almost by chance, the story of Micol, an ordinary student with breathtaking beauty, pushed by her mother and a friend to frequent the world of castings in search of the Big Break.
But between obscene proposals disguised as auditions, parties in the most exclusive clubs and crowded discos, the aspiring model, thirsty for life and experience, stumbles into an underworld of shady characters from whom she must learn to defend herself without blowing her opportunities: directors ready to offer the leading role in exchange for a spicy night; photographers who promise the cover of an international magazine in exchange for a "special" friendship; Entrepreneurs who offer a modeling contract in exchange for an intimate dinner...
A glittering world, yet full of shadows and pitfalls—cocaine, prostitution, anorexia, envy, and false friendships—where everyone wants it all, and danger is always lurking. A waltz of appearances in which Micol promises but doesn't deliver because she doesn't want to compromise and, above all, doesn't want to betray herself.
And yet, after overcoming every disappointment, after every attempt to return to a more authentic life, the lure of success is stronger. And the attraction to that golden world of easy money and easy dreams is fatal. In the end, only time passes, bringing with it broken promises and betrayed illusions. But Micol has grown up: the young girl has given way to a mature woman who has understood what truly matters in life, who decides to leave everything behind and move on.
