Maple Leaves and Misbehaving - A Clean Small Town Fall Romantic Comedy #1012162

She has a binder with nine color-coded tabs. He has a goat that eats agendas.

Second-grade teacher Tessa Moreau volunteered to run the Sugarbush Hollow Fall Festival because she believed in schedules, sheet protectors, and doing things properly. Then the village hall roof sprang a leak, the bill came to eighteen thousand dollars, and the ninety-year-old Thanksgiving harvest supper was suddenly in danger of ending forever.

The committee's oldest member has a plan. A completely fake public feud between the rule-loving teacher and Julien Fortier, the village's grinning maple syrup farmer and volunteer fire chief, who has never followed a rule in his life. Two donation jars at the general store. Team Teacher. Team Syrup. Five weeks to save the hall.

Soon there are apple picking duels, laminated pickup trucks, scarecrows in fire helmets, a pie bake-off, a stalled hayride under a sky full of stars, and one very confusing night in a corn maze. The whole village is cheering. The jars are filling. And the only rule Tessa cannot seem to keep is the one that says nobody falls in love.

But Tessa has been offered a big job back in Ottawa, and Julien hides everything that scares him behind a joke. When the feud becomes the most real thing in either of their lives, can two opposites stop performing long enough to tell the truth before the harvest supper?
