Neighbor Complained About Noise - How to answer a note on your door, tell normal living sounds from truly inconsiderate ones, and be a good apartment neighbor without starting a feud #1012503

You came home to a folded note on your door. Maybe it says you are 'constant', 'stomping' or 'too loud', and now you are replaying every vacuum cycle and footstep, unsure whether you are inconsiderate or the neighbor is just unreasonable. Neighbor Complained About Noise is written for the person who got the note, not the person who is bothered. It gives you a fair way to judge the complaint, small fixes that cost little, and wording that is polite, firm and does not escalate to the landlord. It is different from books about stopping a loud upstairs neighbor or getting a landlord to act: this one helps you be the good neighbor and answer a complaint calmly. It is general information, not legal advice. Inside, you'll learn: You cannot control how another person reacts, but you can respond fairly, keep a clear record and live more peacefully under one roof.
