He left children as follows: a. Argall; b. Edmund' 0. Rose; d. Henry; 6. Francis. The names of Henry and Edmund disappear from' the records on the Eastern Shore of Virginia after 1657 — they were then only boys. No trace of them or any of their descendents has been found, and they probably died without issue. The Colonel was a very promi nent man. He was a member of the Council of State Dec. 20, 1643, and was appointed Commander of Accomac (north ampton), then comprising the whole of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, June 30, 1642, by Sir William Berkeley.
