IN the course of some investigations on soil-gases, and the available plant food in soils, which are in progress in the Chemical Section of the Agricultural Research Institute at Pusa, more accurate information was required on the concentration of calcium carbonate and carbonic acid in water than exists in the literature of this subject. Accordingly, a series of measurements have been made, and the data, together with the general formula.
