The development required by the individual in order to comprehend society is an interesting study. It is a process similar to that through which humanity has passed in its social development. The evolution Of man kind has frequently been compared with that Of an indi vidual through childhood, youth, and manhood, the genesis Of thought in the individual being similar to that in the race. The analogy may sometimes be strained, but we are warranted in saying that as the individual unfolds, his processes bear a likeness to those through which the human family passed on its way to civilization.
