God, Who is wonderful in His Saints,* has in times past and in divers manners made His holy will known to men through the most unlikely instruments. With Him there is no distinction of Jew or Gentile, bond or free,1' young or old. Neither country, nor sex, nor century is an obstacle to His mercies and the whole history of the Church is full of ever recurring proofs of the marvellous ways of God in His dealings with the souls of men.
