Climate Change and Socio-Environmental Degradation in Brazil - A Transdisciplinary Dialogue #888752

This volume represents one of the results of the International Cooperation Project between the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (Brazil) and Università del Salento (Italy) on the theme “Climate Change, Socio-Environmental Degradation and Land Regulation” under the territory of Brazilian jurisdiction. In particular, this volume publishes the workshop results that provided the transdisciplinary dialogue on climate change and social and environmental degradation in Brazil, held on November 21, 2023, at PUC Minas.
Brazil’s environmental and climatic challenges, in their complexity and multiplicity of impacts, require deep and multidimensional analysis. This collection brings together a set of articles that explore, from complementary perspectives, critical issues such as climate risk management, water impairment, social and environmental vulnerability, indigenous rights, and adaptation to climate change. Together, these texts contribute to the understanding of the problems faced by the country and offer subsidies for the formulation of more effective and inclusive public policies.
