The evolution of banking has always been shaped by the tension between innovation and risk. From the earliest forms of lending in Mesopotamia to the rise of modern central banks, financial systems have continuously adapted to meet the needs of growing economies. Yet, despite centuries of progress, one fundamental flaw persists in today’s banking architecture: the mismatch between deposit maturity and loan tenure.
