In accepting the manuscript of A Plea for Monogamy, it did not occur to the publishers to suggest any sort of restrictions in the sale of a great work, crystal like in its purity of purpose. In recognition, however, of these agencies who have been recently active in proposing certain legislation and whose activites were instigated by the reading of a so-called "questionable" novel by a young unmarried girl, and with a desire to cooperate with the book trade in limiting the sale of books to their proper market, we urge that A Plea for Monogamy be sold only to adults. It is a book which should be read by every married man and woman in the country, and by all men and women contemplating matrimony.
