The monograph summarizes and systematizes the most characteristic features of the political behavior of the biggest television media in Russia, as well as the place of television information in the process of the formation of Russian political actors and institutions in the first decade after the collapse of the Soviet Union – the most important political period in the recent history of Russia, when the Russian information television acquired many well- recognized features of a political institution and since then has increasingly played the role of a fully-fledged political entity, significantly affecting the lives of the whole Russian society.
The purpose of this book is to study and comprehend the place of television information in the process of formation of Russian political entities and institutions in the first decade after the collapse of the Soviet Union – perhaps the most politically important period in the history of Russia. At that time, Russian information television acquired many well-recognized features of a political institution and since then has increasingly acted as a full-fledged political subject, significantly influencing the life of the entire society.
