Too much study of Caesar's campaigns in Gaul, his desultory wars, his negotiations (in reported Speech) with Ariovis tus, and the building Of difficult bridges, are apt to be a weariness to the young student, and in choos ing the lives of Epaminondas, Hannibal, and Cato, the object is to give greater variety and interest to a term's work.
