The following notes on the Railways of France are put together from information collected during a series of years, in which, through the kindness of many of the Managers and Officials, I have had opportunities of seeing much of these railways that was interesting.<br><br>My most sincere thanks are due to a large number of gentlemen connected with the various French railways - particularly the Nord, P.L.M. and P.O. Especially must I refer to Monsieur Rudloff of the Chemin de fer du Nord, his unvarying kindness on the innumerable occasions on which we have made expeditions together and the great interest of the information he has given me.
