This little volume, which we believe is the first that has been published in book-form, on the science of Osteopathy, was written with a two-fold purpose. First: To inspire a greater love for Osteopathy in those who have taken it up as a life-work. Second: To give those who are not acquainted with the new science some idea of its teachings, and something of its importance to suffering humanity.<br><br>In compiling it, we have quaffed generously from that fountain of knowledge - "The Journal of Osteopathy," whose proprietor and publisher. Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, is the discoverer of the science, and who, as a thinker and worker in the new field, stands unrivaled.<br><br>At the close of this the 19th century, when modern thought is doing so much for civilization. Osteopathy presents its claims for serious consideration, feeling confident that an enlightened public will give it a befitting welcome, as the art of healing without drugs.
