It will, moreover, be a delusive assumption to hold that Nature's intrinsic connections can be gained by experience, or by any logical deductions from experi ence. Appearances will be found in uniform colloca tions and invariable successions; but the fact of uni form appearances together in place will not warrant a logical conclusion of a substance in which they in here, nor will the fact of appearances in an invariable' order of sequence admit of the logical conclusion that they adhere together in a causal efficiency.
