Duante L. Owens was born and raised in Compton, California, Navigated the challenges of the gang culture. At 18 he was wrongfully convicted and has been fighting for his innocence during his 27 years of incarceration. Now as an author, Duante celebrates yet another life chapter through the release of "Raised in the Fire," the first in a series of short stories based on a fictional character influenced by some of his own life experiences and journey. Transforming his life during this time, Duante has become a beacon of hope, dedicated to helping others change their path both inside and outside of prison walls, inspiring countless individuals to seek a better future.
