Särkilä Thorellqvist, once a best-selling author from Björkviken, Sweden, now lives on Longboat Key, Florida, with Snoopy—his service dog and loyal companion.

Restless, he applies for a writing job at The Bark Foundation for Global Harmony. But his emails take the scenic route and reach a junior cashier at a UPS Store. 

He speaks often with his sister Liv across the ocean, though their memories no longer march in step. She forgets names but remembers ABBA lyrics and goat accents.
