The Long Road tells the true story of a boy who faced hunger, cold, poverty, discrimination and persecution due to his Jewish origins, but managed to reach adulthood as a winner.
He crossed the world alone, working in various professions, fleeing war and Nazism, building and losing families, until settling in Brazil. In our country, he found peace, love, tranquillity, and finally a place to stay, raise his children and adopt as his home until his "passage" to eternity.
This long journey is told in an autobiographical way, allowing the reader to have a sensitive view of historical facts, based on the fears, anxieties, doubts and dreams of a real character. In addition to the well-known stories of concentration camps, Henrique Van Biene leads the reader to reflect on the struggle for survival in such a hostile environment.
