Weight gain and obesity have become the causes of health problems in the western world.
Obesity in particular is a leading cause of death that can be prevented in the world today. Studies have been done to determine the reasons why the world's population seems to be gaining weight. Research has shown, for example, that the general weight of the population is much higher today than in the 1960s.
What factors contributed to this turnaround and what measures can be taken to control them? The body gets between 5% and 45% of its calories from carbohydrates. The normal percentage of calories that come from carbohydrates according to US health guidelines is between 50% and 65%.
Therefore, a diet low in carbohydrates aims to make a conscious effort to limit the intake of foods high in carbohydrates, especially those that cause significant increases in blood sugar
