You entered our house by the side door, of course. That was the door of the dining room, and it had wistaria and morning-glory vines shading the latticed porch above it, and the humming birds used to come there for honey. You saw them sometimes when you were sitting by the window, and were obliged to keep very still or else be asked if you really were learning your Sunday — school lesson or only fooling. You seldom saw them at other times because you didn't keep still long enough. Though you entered our house by the side door, there was a front door and a back door.
