The many applications for a book of Urdu idioms induced me to undertake this little work. It has been compiled from various sources but chiefly from the Urdu dictionary F arbang-i Asaflyya. Idioms that are not fairly common have been omit ted. My thanks are due to shams'1-'ulam5.
